Appi days! The future of housing is here.

Appi days! The future of housing is here.

Appi inspired Ecobuild 2018 crowds in London recently with the exhibition of one of their complete two storey, two-bedroom houses, built entirely offsite.

In an ever-changing world, adapting to change and embracing the future is often the key to success. This is exactly what Appi – modular offsite construction experts - has done.

Driven by demand and recognising the growing need for affordable homes, Appi has responded by designing a range of apartments and houses with the primary focus on speed of construction, both in the factory and onsite. Each home boasts superb quality combined with impressive longevity as standard. Plus, being precision-built and offering high insulation values, low operating costs are assured.

The aim of exhibiting at Ecobuild was to educate people about a brand-new concept in housing.  Speaking at the event at London’s ExCel in March, Sean Eley, Managing Director of Appi UK, said that there are misconceptions that volumetric modular homes lack design and appeal, perhaps due to the memories of the prefabricated homes of the ‘50s and ‘60s. He said: “The last time the UK managed to reach its housing target was when we saw mass prefabrication, and we’ve fallen behind ever since. Our vision is that our manufacturing team will be earning a real living wage, creating homes that they will be able to afford. Collaboration between offsite and councils could provide an answer that sees both parties reap rewards of economy of scale with standardised modular housing, while at the same, providing much-needed employment.

“We aim to deliver high quality, affordable housing and those two aspects combined is most easily achieved through volumetric offsite builds. We work with high quality brands to ensure that our modular homes are finished to excellent condition and design, while our offsite process and fabrication keeps costs low enough to ensure our homes are affordable.”
